Abe was able to create a new curriculum for students that they enjoyed. Students were able to learn new skills and create new things that kept them engaged throughout the day while also being able to play games and win prizes. He was able to delegate the curriculum to staff ahead of time and become a support if questions came up or support was needed. This being the first year where the curriculum was implemented made a big impact on how IOP will be moving forward.

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for the support and opportunities you’ve provided me during my journey as an Educational Coordinator. When I first joined, I felt overwhelmed—especially when it came to technology. Despite my decade of hands-on human service experience, I struggled with new programs/technologies and doubted my ability to adapt. But thanks to the mentorship and resources Abe provided I’ve grown tremendously.
Abe, our in-house teacher trainer, played a pivotal role in this transformation. His patience and innovative teaching methods helped me turn my weaknesses into strengths. For example, I initially felt defeated by Canva, especially when I saw my colleagues excelling with it. But Abe noticed my confidence dipping and assigned me a tailored task: creating slides that broke down the rules of different sports, a subject I’m passionate about. Through this project, I gained the confidence to ask questions I’d been too embarrassed to voice in group settings. By connecting my interests to the skill I needed to learn, Abe helped me master Canva in a way that felt natural and engaging.

Abe has played a significant role in supporting me during the transitions with Gresham High School. He has worked closely with me, particularly in the area of programming, where his collaboration has been both helpful and encouraging. Through our joint efforts, I’ve been able to strengthen my skills and feel more confident in navigating programming at GHS. His willingness to assist and share his knowledge has made a meaningful difference in my experience.
